Softball – Report #1


Morgan Bolduk, Fr., Utility, Vernon

Sunday, the pitcher/first baseman pitched a shutout into the seventh inning in her first collegiate start in an eventual 4-2 walkoff loss to Marietta College in the season-opener and singled to build the tying run and scored the winning run in a walk-off ten-inning 8-7 win over Webster University. In a split of two games, the leadoff hitter reached six times with five hits and a walk, and scored three runs and drove in a run and was credited with both decisions as a right-handed pitcher. Against Marietta, Bolduk allowed one hit in the second, third and fifth innings before two singles and an infield error loaded the bases in the seventh before a walk-off grand slam. Bolduk threw 56 of her 87 pitchers for strikes and did not walk a batter while fanning one. She retired 13 of 14 batters in a row     after getting the first out of the seventh. Against Marietta, Bolduk gave Eastern a 2-0 lead in the third by driving in the first run with a double and scoring the second. In an 8-7, ten-inning walkoff win over Webster, Bolduk reached four times with a walk and three hits. She walked and scored the go-ahead run in the second and in a two-run tenth, singled the tying run to third and drew a throw to second to allow a throwing error to plate the tying run. She scored the winning run on a one-out game-ending double. She was credited with her first win on the mound against Webster when she did not allow an earned run on  three hits in 2 2/3 innings of relief. She fanned two and walked one in the game.

Tuesday in Kissimmee, Eastern (1-3) faces The College of New Jersey at 1:30 p.m. And Ithaca College at 3:45 P.M.


Men's Lacrosse – Report #3


Connor Hillemeir, Fr., M, Farmington

Freshman faceoff man won 16 of 18 faceoffs in a 1-1 week, picking up 15 ground balls. In a 13-8 win over Johnson & Wales in the home-opener Tuesday, Hillemeir was perfect on six tries and won five ground balls, and in a 14-8 loss at Whittier College Sunday, commanded ten of 12 attempts and won ten ground balls. He also contributed his first collegiate goal against Johnson & Wales and first assist against Whittier College. On the year, Hillemeir has won 72 percent of his 25 tries at the faceoff X.

Tuesday at Whittier, CA, Eastern (2-2) faces Southwestern University (TX) at 4 p.m. ET.
