Natalie Stepniewski,W-Swimming,Senior,East Haven,(Thru Feb. 5)

Senior co-captain Natalie Stepniewski of East Haven earned All-Little East Conference honors for the fourth time in her four-year career with a second-place finish in the 200 yard butterfly at the 16th Annual LEC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 4 at the Tripp Athletic Center pool on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Stepniewski was clocked in 2:24.91 in the 200 butterfly – her fastest time of the year by nearly five seconds and just off her all-time best of 2:29.58. Stepniewski also posted her career-best time (2:03.92) with a fourth-place finish in the 200 freestyle and a season-best mark of 5:36.01 with a fifth-place finish in the 500 freestyle.

In addition to her three individual events, Stepniewski swam the opening leg of the 400 yard freestyle with finished third in a time of 3:58.49, which was .19 seconds shy of second place and All-LEC recognition.
